How to Fix a Yahoo Not Responding

However, even after being a reliable browser, it may cause issues accessing some websites like Yahoo Mail. If you are also among the users for whom Yahoo Mail is not working on Chrome, there can be different reasons responsible for it.

While some causes could be occurring due to issues at Yahoo Mail and the Users’ side, others may be related to the Chrome browser’s capabilities. As identifying the exact cause can be a bit difficult, you are suggested to follow the below-mentioned troubleshooting steps to overcome the problem.

Ways to Fix  Yahoo Mail Not Working on Chrome

  1. Update Your Chrome Web Browser

To make sure that your browsing experience on Chrome is safe and uninterrupted, Google offers updates at regular intervals. Keeping such updates pending for a long sometimes can cause issues browsing certain websites on it, and Yahoo Mail could be one of them. Thus, it is recommended to always update Chrome to keep such issues at bay.

  • Open Chrome and click on the More menu icon (three vertical dots) located in the top-right corner.
  • From the drop-down menu, select the Settings
  • Under the settings section, click on the About Chrome option located in the left-hand side panel.
  • Then, from the right-hand side, you can select the option to update the browser.
  • After updating, restart Chrome and access your Yahoo Mail account to see if the problem is fixed.

In case you find Chrome already running with the latest updates, you can move to the next workaround.

  1. Clear Cache from Chrome

When you use Chrome, it saves certain information (temporary files) from websites in its cache and cookies. When these temporary files and other information become overloaded in the cache, it causes Chrome to become sluggish and erratic, making websites like Yahoo Mail perform adequately. In such a case, clearing the caches and cookies from Chrome can help the browser get back to its normalcy.

  • Click on the More menu option (three vertical dots) located in the top-right corner.
  • Select the History option from the drop-down menu.
  • On the next page, click on the Clear browsing data option located in the left-hand side panel. A small window will appear on your screen.
  • Select the checkbox next to Caches images and files | Cookies and other site data options and then press the Clear data button.
  1. Restart Your Computer

If updating Chrome and clearing its cache and cookies doesn’t help you overcome the problem with your Yahoo Mail, it is suggested to restart your computer before accessing your Yahoo Mail account on the browser.

  1. Enable JavaScript

Although JavaScript comes enabled for the Chrome web browser by default, however, if you disabled it, you may face issues accessing Yahoo Mail and other similar websites. This is because JavaScript is responsible for providing access to dynamic interactions on the web; disabling it can sometimes make Yahoo Mail not run smoothly.

  • Click on the More option from the top-right corner.
  • Select the Settings option from the drop-down menu.
  • Under the Settings section, select the Privacy and Security option from the left-hand side.
  • Next, select the Site settings option, scroll down, and click on the JavaScript
  • On the next screen, if you find the “Don’t allow sites to use JavaScript” option enabled, simply select the “Sites can use JavaScript” option under the “Default behavior” section.
  • You can restart the web browser and sign in to your Yahoo Mail account to see if the problem is fixed.
  1. Remove Faulty Browser Extensions

If you have a lot of unused or unreliable browser enhancements installed on your Chrome, it can also prevent you from accessing your Yahoo Mail account. To identify if any such browser extension can be causing issues with Yahoo Mail, you can try signing in to your Yahoo Mail account in “Incognito Mode”. When you access a website in an Incognito Mode, it loads the website without allowing any extension. If you can access Yahoo Mail without any issue in this mode, it implies that the problem is caused by a faulty extension. In this case, you can temporarily disable each extension (one at a time) to find the faulty one.

  • Click the More option (three vertical dots) locate in the top-right corner.
  • Next, select the More > Extensions option from the drop-down menu.
  • On the next page, you can find the different extensions enabled for Chrome and disable/remove them accordingly.
  1. Reset Chrome

If you are still not able to identify the problem causing issues with Yahoo Mail on Chrome, consider resetting your web browser to its factory settings.

  • Select the More option from the top-right corner and select the Settings option from the drop-down menu.
  • Next, select the Advanced option from the left-hand side panel.
  • Under the Advanced section, click on Reset and clean up
  • Then, click or tap on the Restore settings to their original defaults option and confirm your action by pressing the Reset settings button in the confirmation box that appears on your screen.
  • Now, restart your Chrome browser and sign in to your Yahoo Mail account to see if the problem is cleared.

In most cases, following these workarounds should help you fix issues with your Yahoo Mail account on Google Chrome Browser.
